Is Cricket 24 a Real Step Forward or Just Another Reskin?

So I picked up Cricket 24 last week, and I can’t decide if I love it or if it’s just Cricket 22 with a fresh coat of paint. Anyone else playing it? Is it just me, or do the AI and animations still feel kinda clunky at times? For anyone wondering what game we’re talking about, here’s the official site: https://www.cricket24.com

Yeah I’ve been playing a bit on PS5. Honestly, they did improve the stadium lighting and the commentary feels less robotic, but the bowling AI still makes dumb decisions sometimes. Still, Career Mode is pretty fun — I finally got my player into the IPL after 3 seasons ? If you're into visuals and updated squads, it's worth it, but gameplay-wise… it's not revolutionary.

Tbh, I was on the fence too but ended up enjoying it more than expected. I think the small upgrades make a difference if you’ve been away from the series for a while. The women's teams addition was a nice touch too. Felt fresh. Also, @JordanBromby I totally agree — batting animations still need serious work.

Good to know I’m not crazy. I feel like the swing timing is a bit more forgiving now, though. Jasper, did you play around with the Pro Team mode yet? Wondering if it's worth diving into or just a FUT-style grind.

Yeah I tried Pro Team last night — it’s definitely a grind, but it’s kinda addictive. You start with basic players and earn better cards through matches or objectives. Classic formula. Also, random tip: if you ever follow multiple leagues (IPL, The Hundred, etc.), check out the pro kabaddi live app — I know, sounds like it's only kabaddi, but it tracks live scores, player stats, and even has fantasy-style features for cricket and other sports too.

I’ve actually used that app before during the World Cup last year! Solid interface. Didn’t know they added domestic leagues now. And yeah, Pro Team’s a fun distraction if you don’t take it too seriously — but expect some card RNG frustration.

YES. Especially during big sixes — feels like the audience is half-asleep sometimes. Hoping they patch that soon. Still, it's cricket on console, so I'll take what I can get ?
